GANGTOK-ZULUK-GNATHANG VALLEY-DARJEELING TRIP MARCH 2018

26 MARCH 2018 - DAY 5 - DARJEELING SIGHTSEEING

It was a sunny but hazy morning. After a sumptuous break fast at hotel, we planned full sightseeing in Darjeeling but..but .. but... my younger son (5 yrs) hasn't recovered from tiredness and had vomiting. We found a nice paediatrics Mr Patra (sits in medical store next to chowk bazar taxi stand) and he prescribed few medicines. By 11 AM we were all well and settled.

Lost couple of hrs in morning, we decided to visit good places as time and health permits. The first was ZOO and YES kids were very excited to see RED PANDA for the first time.

Zoo (tickets include visit to HMI, Bengal Museum)  was small but good. Saw Red Panda, Royal Begal Tiger & Other animals.  Also visited HMI Institute and Bengal Museum and collected few souvenirs.

Next was Happy Valley Tea Estate. Though Tea factory processing was closed but we went for guided tour. Meanwhile we also went to back side tea gardens.
The guided tour was 15-20 mins and ended up in souvenir shop by tasting 5-6 different teas.

We went to cable car ride but due to waiting of 2 hrs we skipped (also son was still recovering) and went to Visit Japanese Temple.  Nice small temple and peace pagoda was there at the other side of hills.

By then it was 4 pm and asked our driver to get us dropped at Hotel.

We rested for couple of hours and it rained as well. We strolled around Nehru Road, Keventer's, tried few varieties at Glenery's and spent some time as Chowrasta. While coming back purchased some souvenirs (Biswa Bangla Store) and my elder son enjoyed at KFC as well. Evening we retired at hotel and we knew tomorrow will be our long journey back to home.

Todays Expense:
1. Sightseeing Cab : WagonR Rs 1500 / Half Day
