We drove around 5 AM , it was all foggy at Lungthang Valley. It was almost dawn with absolute no-visibility due to fog, our driver was sceptical if we can see anything. Luckily there was no snow last night and roads were clear. Just after few kms above we saw first ray of sun and some most fantastic views of valley, with words beyond explanation.
As said rest was history. It was the most memorable day of our life as beautiful snow covered valley greeted us. We stopped at various places at Nathang Valley and from one place we got our view of Kanchenjunga peak. AWSTRUCK & STUNNED !!

Soon we reached Old baba mandir and the views of Gnathang Valley were stunning and picture post from there. We could see Nathula pass from there, so close so far but no regrets.

We could not go further as roads were STILL to be cleared by BRO (ice all over them). All the way returning we were awestruck with the view of the Kanchenjunga peak QUITE extraordinary and amazing.
Frozen Road & WayAhead
On the way my driver showed some ICICLES and my son was excited to play with it.
Overall it was an experience of lifetime (mostly unplanned though) and memories captured for long time. We thanked our driver for fantastic driving and was just like family member to us by then. By 8:30 AM we reached Lumthang HomeStay, packed our bags, quickly had tea and breakfast (plain aloo sabzi+roti) and thanked the hostess and started our journey to Darjeeling by 9 AM.
your photos are superb and enjoyed your blog too. which date you went in March ? I am planning on 24.3.2020. Is it possible to reach Zuluk or any other place directly going from Badgogra Airport? I may reach at 5 pm and by that time permit office at Rongli may have closed. Can I call you to know from you as you have visited in March ?
